Nest -
We've all heard the saying "Variety is the spice of life." And while this philosophy holds true in most aspects of day-to-day living, it seems the masterminds of the New York nightlife industry have forgotten what it means to mix things up. Unless one is prepared to club-hop around the city, a nightlife goer can expect an evening of mostly the same if they stay at one night spot. But new club and event space Nest, located in the hot Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, is changing all of that.
Unlike most clubs or event spaces in the city, Nest has the square footage to create a diverse atmosphere that satisfies even the toughest nightlife critic. The tri-level space contains three very different floors for every different type of nightlife enthusiast. For those seeking a more relaxed evening out - look no further than Nest's lower level. A one-of-a-kind feather chandelier greets each patron as they descend down the stairs into a cavernous yet welcoming room. Exposed brick, extensive candlelight and cozy tables add to the space's unique charm. Lining the walls is a man-made nest of back-lit layered strips of metal -an artistic effect that can be found throughout the club.
For those patrons seeking a more upbeat night out, the upper levels of the club offer two very different high-energy experiences. The feel and décor of Nest's middle level can only be described as luxe. Red walls and dark wood are accentuated by the continuation of the metal nest covering the walls and snugly surrounding the DJ booth. Squarely in the middle of the room hangs a glass-encased disco ball that, along with the latest cutting edge light technology, has the ability to change the ambience of the room instantly. Move to the last and highest level of Nest and leave behind the frenzied world of the middle floor for a sleek and cutting-edge party. Cool blue walls and blond wood floors run throughout. Designer Steve Lewis has created a room unlike any other thanks in part to his genius wall coverings of lazar cut wood panels. The large panels fit along the wall as if pieces of a puzzle and continue along the space's ceiling. These accents, along with many other visionary designs found throughout the club help to create an inviting and comfortable space for clientele to lounge in under any circumstances. Nest's diverse atmosphere is sure to keep patrons coming back time and time again.
